Cabo San Lucas Beaches

Cabo San Lucas, located in the Baja California peninsula along the Southern tip is a major Mexican resort destination for tourists. Also referred to as Los Cabos, this is the second largest community in the state of Baja California. In the early 1970’s Cabo San Lucas experienced a development rush due in large part to the beauty of its beaches, and sport fishing. The Government of Mexico saw the potential of the area to draw tourists and investors and thus got involved to develop the necessary infrastructure. From that point on there was no looking back as Cabo San Lucas has since been a major tourist destination. Cabo San Lucas is known for its pristine beaches with white sand and clear blue waters. The beaches of Cabo San Lucas can be broken down into two areas. One being what is known as the beaches of the tourist corridor. Cabo San Lucas beaches in the tourist corridor include the famous Blue coast beach, or Playa Coasta Azul. It is at this beach in Cabo San Lucas where many people come from all over to experience the amazing Surf conditions. If you are not looking to surf while in Los Cabos, fear not, there is a Los Cabos beach for you. Staying in the tourist corridor, there is the Playa Palmilla beach where the hotel Palmilla is situated. Here you can enjoy tanning, or even try snorkeling. Finally, a visit to the Cabo San Lucas beach known as Chilean beach in the tourist corridor and one will find yet again white sandy beaches set for snorkeling and diving. It is here that the Hotel Cabo San Lucas is located.

Other Cabo San Lucas area beaches just outside the tourist corridor include, Divorce beach, this is a nice beach to soak in the sun but it is not a good beach for swimming. Lovers beach, or Playa del Amor which is located on lands end on the Sea of Cortez side. Solamar beach in Cabo San Lucas is a long stretch of white sandy beach which is in the front of the Pacific Ocean. The best Cabo San Lucas beach for a safe swimming experience is Medando beach.
