Frozen Margarita Recipe

Frozen Margarita Recipe Fresh

Frozen margaritas are the perfect summer treat for hanging out in a backyard or by a friend’s pool somewhere. You need the basic margarita ingredients: tequila, orange liquor, ice, salt, and lemon/lime juice. This time, instead of a shaker, you’ll use a blender to make a delicious, refreshing beverage! Here’s an awesome frozen margarita recipe:

Just put 2 ounces of your favorite tequila, 1 ounce of orange liquor, 1 ounce of simple syrup, and 1 ounce of fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice (don’t skimp on using fresh – it makes all the difference) with 2 cups of ice in the blender and blend until all the ice is crushed. Pour into a salt rimmed glass. Salt the rim by putting a generous amount of salt on a plate, then rubbing the rim all the way around with a wedge of lemon or lime, then putting the glass’s rim in the salt. Be careful not to pour the blended margarita on the salt rim! This is the simplest of frozen margarita recipes. You can kick it up a notch by replacing the orange liquor with different flavored liquors like Chambord or pomegranate. Another yummy idea is to grate the rind of the lemons and limes you use and add a little of it to the mix before you blend. You can also use grapefruit juice in with the lemon and lime.

Use your imagination when it comes to making your frozen margarita. The sky is the limit – you can add whole pieces of fruits like strawberries or mangos, and mix up the different flavored liquors to create a frozen margarita that is totally unique!
