Puerto Penasco, Mexico
 |
This beach community, known as Rocky
Point by the locals, is
located 210 miles southwest of Tucson, Arizona (65 miles
south of the U.S. border) and has come into prominence as
a tourist spot within the last few years, but the town has
been here since the 1930s (one of its earliest famous
gringo visitors was Al Capone).
It is a fishing village, with the
Sonora desert on one side and the
beautiful Sea of Cortez on the other,
and it has just started to develop its
tourism angle. In other words,
Puerto Penasco isn't Cancun or Puerto
Vallarta. At least not yet! |
