Snorkeling In Rocky Point Mexico

Next time you are thinking of something interesting to do over the weekend or while the kids are on break from school, how about heading south of the border for a couple of days? Escaping the desert for some fun in the water is not only a great way to cool off, but it also provides a wonderful and inexpensive family activity- snorkeling in Rocky Point Mexico.

Snorkeling is a simple, easy, and safe way to enhance your time at the beach. This is especially true when there is so much to see just by looking under water. Rocky Point has some of the most diverse and easily accessible beaches perfect for snorkeling in North America, and unlike many other popular destinations, it not an ocean away.

Situated about five driving hours from both Tucson and Phoenix, this beach oasis in the desert has been a favorite destination for beach lovers for years, but it hasn’t become overwhelmed with tourists. Many come to relax on the beach, fish or even golf. But snorkeling is one of the best ways to experience Rocky Point as you can enjoy seeing a living underwater universe right before your eyes.

The warm water of the Sea of Cortez makes it comfortable to swim in while attracting all sorts of unique and diverse species of fish and marine life. Snorkeling lets you peer into a whole new world without fully leaving yours.

Since there are no classes, and you don’t need to be certified, it makes a great, easy and inexpensive way to enjoy swimming more than ever before. The hardest part about snorkeling is learning how to position your head underwater so your snorkel doesn’t get water in it. Other than that, as long as you can swim, you can snorkel.

There are boat tours available for those who want to escape the shoreline, and there is plenty to see on throughout the region. From reefs to interesting underwater rock formations, there is a seemingly endless of new and exciting things to see, feel and explore while snorkeling. Snorkeling In Rocky Point Mexico is one of the best places to enjoy simply because the water is so clear and calm most of the time.

Many hotels and shops rent equipment, or you can just buy your own. Make sure to go to a store that has specialized snorkeling equipment, because the stuff at the local discount superstore is not the real thing. Fins need to fit your feet well, and have just the right amount of flexibility and resistance to truly propel you through the water. Additionally, second rate snorkels will leak easier and not fit properly.

Passports are now required for travel from the U.S. to Rocky Point, however they do offer a passcard instead, which is a little less expensive and good for travel in Mexico as well as Canada among some Caribbean destinations. The process takes anywhere from two to six weeks, depending on how much money you want to spend, so allow some extra time when planning for your next trip.
